Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (not a genetic or familial form).
  • Your Parkinson's is at Hoehn and Yahr stage I to IV (mild to moderate/severe disability).
  • You are already approved for DBS surgery to the STN or GPi part of the brain, and you do not have any existing DBS electrodes.
  • You have mild or moderate problems with your voice or swallowing.
  • You do not have other brain or movement disorders (like essential tremor), severe depression, or significant thinking/memory problems.
