Melatonin before cataract surgery for older adults

  • You are 60 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled for cataract surgery on one eye using only local anesthesia.
  • You do not take regular sedatives, sleeping pills, or anti-anxiety medications.
  • You do not have a sleep disorder or a psychiatric condition.
  • You are not allergic to melatonin.
