Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You are scheduled for lumbar fusion surgery (for a disc problem, slipped vertebra, or narrow spinal canal).
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners.
  • You do not have a current infection or fracture in your lower back.
  • You are not pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
