Who can take part

  • You are between ages 18 and 80
  • You are scheduled for a long spine fusion through the back (at least 5 spinal levels) for adult scoliosis or degenerative spine disease
  • Your surgery plan includes a fusion that connects to the pelvis
  • You are not having an anterior (front) surgical approach
  • No major bleeding or clotting problems (kidney/liver issues, seizure history, major heart/stroke/clot history, or blood tests showing high bleeding risk)
