MINT video game training to improve walking after stroke

This study tests a new video-game–style training called MINT to help people who have had a stroke walk better. If you have trouble walking because one leg is weaker or slower than the other, this training might help improve your balance and coordination.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You had a stroke at least 6 months ago that affected one side of your body, especially your leg.
  • You can walk but your speed is less than half of normal (max 0.8 meters per second).
  • You can stand without help from someone or a walker.
  • You must not have had Botox or other muscle-spasm treatments in your affected leg in the last 3 months.
  • You should not have had more than one fall in the past year or use a walker for balance.
