Who can take part

  • Your body mass index (BMI) must be 32 or lower.
  • You need to have 15 to 50 pauses in breathing per hour of sleep (moderate to severe sleep apnea).
  • No more than 25% of those pauses are from central or mixed sleep apnea.
  • You have tried a CPAP or similar mask and it didn't work, or you chose not to use it.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Your airway does not have major blockages, nerve weakness, or specific collapse patterns as seen on a sleep endoscopy.
