- You are 18 years or older.
- You have a massive rotator cuff tear confirmed by an MRI, with the tendons pulled back to the bone socket.
- The tear is considered irreparable based on MRI measurements and fatty changes in the muscle.
- Your doctor found a lag in your ability to externally rotate your arm during an exam.
- You have not had previous surgery on the affected shoulder.
