  • You have a tooth that has lost a cusp (the pointed part of the chewing surface).
  • The tooth is either alive (vital) or has had a root canal (devital).
  • You do not have a root canal treated tooth with an infection or lesion at the root tip.
  • You do not have a vital tooth that is causing pain or other symptoms.
