This study compares two different ways to restore damaged teeth using computer-designed tooth coverings (onlays). You would receive one type of restoration and have it checked regularly to see how well it works and lasts.

Who can take part

  • You have at least two teeth that need restoration due to decay or after root canal treatment
  • Each tooth has at least two healthy walls (sides) that are at least 2.5 mm tall and 2 mm wide
  • The tooth structure extends at least 3 mm above the gum line
  • Your tooth's crown-to-root ratio is at least 1:1 (roughly equal amounts of tooth above and below the gum)
  • You practice good daily oral hygiene (brushing and flossing)
  • You do not grind or clench your teeth, and you're not pregnant
