Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 70 years old.
- Your body mass index (BMI) is between 35 and 70.
- You have cirrhosis (scarring) of the liver and high blood pressure in the liver.
- You are healthy enough for general anesthesia and for a sleeve gastrectomy.
- You have not had any weight-loss surgery before (unless a lap band was removed at least 3 months ago).
- You do not have serious heart, lung, kidney, or other medical problems, and are not pregnant.
