TIPS with or without BCAA for cirrhosis and muscle wasting
Part of Brain & nervous system, Digestive system clinical trials.
This trial tests whether adding branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) to the standard TIPS procedure helps people with cirrhosis and muscle wasting. It aims to see if BCAA can improve outcomes after TIPS.

This trial tests if an artificial intelligence (AI) system can help guide a TIPS procedure, which is a treatment to improve blood flow in the liver. If you need this procedure and are in good enough health, you may be able to join.
This study looks at how a treatment called TIPS (a procedure to reduce pressure in the liver) might help improve muscle wasting (sarcopenia) in people with liver cirrhosis. If you are scheduled for TIPS, researchers want to see if it can stop or reverse muscle loss.
This trial studies whether a procedure called TIPS (a stent placed in the liver to improve blood flow) can help people with advanced liver disease regain better liver function. It is for patients who have had complications like severe bleeding from the stomach or difficult-to-control fluid buildup (ascites).
This trial tests if doing a TIPS procedure (to lower blood pressure in the liver) before weight-loss surgery (sleeve gastrectomy) helps people with advanced liver disease. It's for those who have cirrhosis and very high blood pressure in the liver, and who qualify for sleeve gastrectomy.
This study tests a TIPS stent graft (a tiny mesh tube placed in the liver to relieve pressure) for people with cirrhosis and complications like bleeding or fluid buildup. It aims to see how well it works and if it's safe.
This study tests whether taking a daily drink of branched-chain amino acids (a type of protein) can help people with liver cirrhosis who have lost muscle strength and mass. It may help improve muscle size and function.
