Treating essential tremor with focused heat to both sides of the brain

Essential Tremor

Part of Brain & nervous system clinical trials.

This trial tests a one-time procedure that uses heat to stop the brain cells causing tremor. It might help people with severe shaking that hasn't improved with medication.

Tremor treatment study: focused ultrasound for both sides

This trial tests a second focused ultrasound treatment for people with essential tremor who have already had one side treated. It checks if treating the other side helps control tremors better.

NCT07006740Not yet recruiting
Focused ultrasound for essential tremor

This trial tests a noninvasive procedure that uses focused ultrasound waves to target a small area in the brain responsible for tremor. It may offer a new option for people with essential tremor whose symptoms are not well controlled by medication.

Brain Stimulation to Reduce Essential Tremor Shaking

This trial tests a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tTIS to help reduce the shaking associated with essential tremor. Researchers want to see if this approach can improve hand control and quality of life for people with this condition.

Magnetic brain stimulation for essential tremor

This study tests a new type of magnetic brain stimulation (given as pulses to two brain areas) to help reduce shaking from essential tremor. It is for people whose tremor hasn't improved enough with standard medications.

Second side focused ultrasound for essential tremor

This study tests whether a second focused ultrasound treatment on the other side of the brain can safely and effectively reduce tremor in people with essential tremor who already had one treatment. It's for those whose tremor is not well controlled by medication or previous treatments.

Ultrasound brain stimulation for essential tremor

This study uses ultrasound to gently stimulate the brain’s cerebellum. It’s checking if this can improve symptoms for people with essential tremor (a shaking condition) or help us understand brain function in healthy volunteers.
