Who can take part
- You are between 50 and 80 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's disease (a score of 10-20 on a memory test and a score of 1 or higher on a dementia rating scale).
- You have had Alzheimer's symptoms for more than 6 months.
- If you take Alzheimer's medication, you must be on a stable dose for at least 3 months before starting, or you have never taken it before.
- You have a caregiver who spends at least 8 hours per week with you and can come to all study visits.
- You are generally healthy enough for surgery and MRI scans, with no other major brain conditions, bleeding risks, or uncontrolled health problems.
