Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have leg pain, numbness, or tingling linked to a specific lower back nerve (L4, L5, or S1) that has lasted at least 3 months
  • You have tried other treatments (like physical therapy or medication) that didn't help enough
  • Your doctor has already recommended a transforaminal epidural steroid injection for your pain
  • You are willing to participate and sign a consent form
  • You are not pregnant, do not have cancer, a bleeding disorder, or a serious mental health condition
  • You have not had an epidural steroid injection in the last 3 months, and you do not take steroid medications for other reasons
