Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are having a first-time total knee replacement for osteoarthritis (not a revision or partial replacement).
  • You have a mild to moderate health status (ASA class I, II, or III).
  • You do not have severe knee deformity, other types of arthritis, or allergies to numbing medicines.
  • You are not on blood thinners, have kidney or liver problems, or have had previous surgery on the same leg's blood vessels.
