Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a single total knee replacement surgery.
  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • Your physical health is classified as ASA I, II, or III (generally healthy to moderate illness).
  • You do not have a body mass index (BMI) over 30.
  • You do not have uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders, or opioid dependence.
  • You have no infection where the block would be given and no allergy to local anesthetics.
