Who can take part

  • You are between 40 and 80 years old
  • You are scheduled for a total knee replacement on one knee
  • You have an ASA physical status classification of I, II, or III (generally healthy to moderate health issues)
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder
  • You do not have severe kidney problems
  • You do not have nerve problems in your lower leg before surgery
  • You are not allergic to any of the medications used in the study
