Who can take part
- Born between 26 weeks 0 days and 31 weeks 6 days of pregnancy
- Has breathing problems from lung immaturity (respiratory distress syndrome)
- Must start non-invasive breathing support within first 3 hours after birth
- No breathing tube or ventilator needed before arrival in the NICU
- No major birth defects (especially of the airway)
- Parent or guardian must agree to the treatment plan
