Who can take part
- Your baby must be born at this hospital (not transferred from another hospital after birth).
- Your baby was born between 26 and 33 weeks of pregnancy (gestational age).
- Your baby weighs between the 3rd and 97th percentile for their age and weighs no more than 2000 grams (about 4.4 pounds).
- Your baby is between 1 and 24 hours old when starting the study.
- Your baby needs CPAP or non-invasive breathing support with a certain oxygen level (FiO2 of 0.24 or higher) and pressure (at least 6 cm H2O).
- A chest X-ray or lung ultrasound shows respiratory distress syndrome (RDS).
