Fatty Acid Supplement for Dermatomyositis

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 60 years old and have been diagnosed with dermatomyositis or juvenile dermatomyositis.
  • You need to be willing to follow a healthy diet plan and have regular online coaching sessions (about 10 sessions over 6 months).
  • You must be able to take 4 study pills twice a day for 6 months and complete all study visits at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
  • You must be able to wear a small activity tracker (like a watch) for 7 days, twice during the study, and provide blood, stool, urine samples, and have imaging tests done.
  • You need to have access to a computer or smartphone with internet and an active email address for online forms and telehealth visits.
  • You should not have significant medical conditions (like severe heart or kidney disease, certain infections, or recent cancer) that might make the study unsafe.
