Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have a type of rectal cancer called locally advanced adenocarcinoma that is pMMR or MSS (this means it may respond well to immunotherapy).
  • You have not had any prior treatment for your rectal cancer (like surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy).
  • Your tumor is located no more than 10 cm (about 4 inches) from your anal opening.
  • You are in good general health (able to do daily activities without help, with good blood, liver, and kidney function).
