Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have a type of rectal cancer called pMMR/MSS (this means your tumor doesn't have certain genetic changes).
- Your rectal tumor is low enough that it's below the peritoneal reflection (a landmark in the abdomen).
- Your cancer is locally advanced and has at least one high-risk feature, such as growing into nearby tissues, being in several lymph nodes, or being close to vital structures.
- You haven't had any prior cancer treatment (radiation, chemo, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy).
- You are in good general health (able to do daily activities) and your blood counts and organ function are within normal limits.
