  • You must be 18 years old or older.
  • You must have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher (considered obese).
  • You must have at least one other condition linked to metabolic syndrome, like high blood pressure, high blood sugar, or unhealthy cholesterol levels.
  • You need to be able to safely walk around and not be pregnant.
  • You need to have a smartphone and be willing to wear a Fitbit activity tracker during the study.
