Test-retest reliability of the wakefulness test in sleepy participants

Disorders of Excessive Somnolence

This study is testing how reliable a test called the Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT) is for measuring daytime sleepiness. It looks at different groups: people with sleep apnea, people with narcolepsy, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to see if the MWT gives consistent results when repeated.

Who can take part

  • You must be covered by a social security system
  • You must give written consent to participate
  • You belong to one of these groups: suspected sleep apnea (Epworth score ≥11), treated sleep apnea older than 15 days, treated narcolepsy type 1 older than 15 days, or a healthy volunteer (Epworth score <11)
  • You cannot have other untreated sleep disorders causing daytime sleepiness
  • You cannot have a serious medical condition that is unstable
  • You cannot have changed any psychiatric medications in the past year
  • Only healthy volunteers: no suspected sleep apnea or insomnia
  • You cannot be a shift or night worker
  • You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You cannot be under legal guardianship
