Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (a type of irregular heartbeat) confirmed by a standard test such as an ECG (electrocardiogram), Holter monitor, or heart device.
- Your doctor has determined that you are a good candidate for a procedure called ablation (which uses a catheter to stop the irregular signals in your heart).
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have not had a previous ablation or surgery on the left upper chamber of your heart.
- You do not have a blood clot inside your heart, and you do not have severe mitral valve disease (valve leakage or narrowing).
- If you are a woman under 50, you will need a pregnancy test before the procedure.
