Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You weigh between 40 and 120 kg (about 88 to 265 pounds).
  • You have a closed break in your shinbone (tibia) that needs surgery.
  • You can use crutches safely and have permission from your doctor to put some weight on your injured leg.
  • You are willing to follow a weight-bearing plan using special crutch tips and attend follow-up visits over 9 months.
