Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have a subdural hematoma (blood on the brain) that needs to be drained via a burr hole.
- Your overall health is rated as ASA class II or III (mild to moderate risk, not very healthy or very sick).
- You are not allergic to any of the study drugs (such as lidocaine).
- Your Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score is 8 or higher (you are fairly awake and responsive).
- You do not have a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners, and you have no heart block or infection at the injection site.
