Who can take part

  • You have a type of head and neck cancer called squamous cell carcinoma that can be surgically removed.
  • Your cancer is stage III or IVB, and your doctor believes it can be completely removed with surgery.
  • You have not had any prior treatment for this cancer.
  • You are healthy enough for daily activities with an ECOG score of 0 to 2.
  • Your major organs (bone marrow, kidneys, liver) are working well based on blood tests.
  • You agree to use effective birth control during the study and for 6 months after treatment ends.
