Who can take part

  • 18 years or older
  • Have most of your front teeth and at least one back tooth on each side (natural, implant, or fixed bridge)
  • Chronic jaw muscle pain that started more than 3 months ago and occurs on at least 15 days per month
  • No recent face or jaw surgery, active braces, or pregnancy
  • No uncontrolled diabetes, heart disease, kidney failure, or other serious medical conditions
  • Not currently taking daily pain medications or muscle relaxants that you cannot stop for 24 hours before visits
