Testing a new numbing shot for lung nodule localization

This study tests a new type of numbing injection (called a retro-superior costotransverse ligament space block) to see how well it spreads and numbs the area during CT-guided lung nodule localization. The goal is to find better ways to keep you comfortable during the procedure.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30
  • You are classified as ASA I, II, or III (a measure of your overall health before surgery)
  • You are scheduled for a CT-guided lung nodule localization procedure with only local numbing medicine
  • You are not allergic to the numbing medicine used in the study
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder or an infection at the injection site
