This trial tests whether taletrectinib (a targeted pill) can help prevent lung cancer from coming back after surgery in people whose tumors have a ROS1 gene change. You would take either taletrectinib or a placebo (inactive pill) for about a year after surgery.

Who can take part
- You must have non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is stage IB, II, or IIIA after surgery.
- Your tumor must have a specific change in the ROS1 gene (called a ROS1 rearrangement).
- You must have had surgery to remove all visible cancer, and you must be recovering well (at least 4 weeks after surgery, but no more than 16 weeks if no chemotherapy was given, or up to 30 weeks if you had chemotherapy).
- You cannot have had any prior targeted therapy for your lung cancer, and if you received immunotherapy, it must have been at least 12 weeks ago.
- You must be 18 years or older (or 20 in some countries) and in good overall health (ECOG performance status 0 or 1).
- You cannot have other serious heart, lung, or active infections, and you must not have taken certain medications or foods that affect liver enzymes in the last 2 weeks.

This trial tests if Firmonertinib, a targeted pill, can prevent lung cancer from returning after surgery in people with non-small cell lung cancer that has certain uncommon EGFR gene changes. If you have had complete tumor removal and have one of these specific mutations, this study may help you stay cancer-free longer.
