Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have a confirmed type A aortic dissection and are scheduled for surgery to repair it.
- You do not have severe liver disease with a score of 10–15 on a special test.
- You do not have severe kidney disease that requires dialysis.
- You do not have a diagnosis of COPD or asthma.
- You are not taking long-term steroids or medicines that suppress the immune system (like certain injections).
