Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with an acute type A aortic dissection (a tear in the main artery from the heart) and need emergency surgery within 14 days of symptoms starting.
  • You or a legal representative can understand the study and agree to take part, and you are willing to attend follow-up visits.
  • You do not have a history of open heart or chest aortic surgery.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have severe organ failure (like liver or kidney disease), certain blood disorders, or other serious medical conditions that would make the trial unsafe.
