  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of beta thalassemia and be receiving standard treatment.
  • You must be 18 years old or older.
  • You cannot have diabetes, heart disease, or a history of heart attack or stroke.
  • You cannot have kidney or liver problems.
  • You cannot be pregnant, obese, or have certain other medical conditions (like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, COPD, or cancer).
