A program to prevent substance use risk for kids ages 7-11

This study tests a program for upper elementary students (ages 7-11) to help prevent substance use risks. It uses a positive approach that builds on children's strengths. Your child can participate in the activities, and their survey answers will be included unless they have significant cognitive challenges noted by the school.

  • Your child must attend a school that is part of this study.
  • Your child should be between 7 and 11 years old.
  • All children in the school can take part in the program, but survey answers from children with significant learning or thinking challenges (identified by school staff) will not be used in the study results.
