Dialysis fluid and blood vessel health in kidney disease

Vascular CalcificationHemodialysisCardiovascular Disease (CKD)

Part of Heart & circulation, Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This study looks at how the type of fluid used during dialysis might affect calcium buildup in your blood vessels, which can be a problem for people on long-term dialysis. If you're on dialysis and stable, you may be able to join.

Heart and bone health in dialysis patients vs. healthy

This study looks at heart and bone health in people on dialysis compared to healthy volunteers. If you are on dialysis for at least 6 months, or if you are healthy with no kidney issues, you may be able to join.

NCT07685223Not yet recruiting
Comparing dialysis filters for bone health in kidney patients

This trial tests two types of dialysis filters (medium cut-off and high-flux) to see which one better manages mineral and bone problems common in people on hemodialysis. It may help find a way to improve bone health and mineral balance.

NCT06021080Recruiting
Comparing kidney dialysis patterns on calcium levels with citrate blood thinner

This study compares different patterns of continuous kidney dialysis (called CRRT) to see how they affect calcium levels in the blood when using a citrate-based blood thinner. It may help find the safest way to manage calcium during treatment.

NCT07392697Not yet recruiting
Amino acid therapy for blood vessel stiffness in kidney failure

This study tests whether giving amino acids during dialysis can help reduce stiffness in blood vessels for people with advanced kidney disease. It aims to improve heart health in patients on long-term dialysis.

NCT07663279Not yet recruiting
Improving mineral balance in dialysis patients

This study tests a change in dialysis fluid to help patients on hemodialysis better manage their mineral levels, which may reduce bone and heart problems.

Heart strain during dialysis: a study on fluid removal

This study looks at how quickly fluid is removed during dialysis affects the heart. It may help find safer ways to manage fluid removal for people on hemodialysis.
