New brain stimulation for thinking and balance problems in Cushing syndrome

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with Cushing syndrome (confirmed by specific lab tests).
  • An MRI shows shrinkage of the cerebellum (the part of the brain that helps with balance and coordination) beyond normal for your age.
  • You have been diagnosed with cerebellar cognitive affective syndrome (CCAS) based on a standard test score of 20 or more.
  • You have at least moderate trouble with coordination (score of 10 or more on a scale for ataxia).
  • You have noticeable problems with thinking, such as memory or attention (score below 26 on a common screening test or low scores in two or more thinking areas).
  • You are willing to receive a new type of brain stimulation through a small procedure and can give your written consent.
