Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older and considered unable to have strong chemotherapy because of age, health problems, or other reasons.
- You must have newly diagnosed AML, but not certain genetic types listed by the study.
- You must not have received any treatment for your AML before this study, except possibly hydroxyurea or a low dose of cytarabine to lower very high white blood cell counts.
- Your liver and kidney function must be adequate as measured by blood tests.
- You cannot have certain medical conditions like kidney disease needing dialysis, iron overload, or diabetes requiring daily finger-stick glucose checks.
- You must not have a known allergy to vitamin C, azacitidine, or venetoclax.
