Rehabilitation After Neurological or Orthopaedic Injuries

This trial tests if a hand rehabilitation device (ReHandyBot) and a smartphone app (RehabCoach) can be used safely and effectively at home without a therapist present. It is for people who have had a stroke, brain injury, or orthopedic condition affecting their upper limb.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 90 years old.
  • You had a stroke or traumatic brain injury within the last 6 months, or you were in the hospital for an orthopedic problem (like surgery or injury).
  • Your arm or hand has some loss of movement or feeling, as determined by your therapist.
  • You have enough space at home to set up the robot device.
  • You do not have severe muscle tightness (spasticity), severe pain, severe trouble understanding language, or severe memory or thinking problems.
  • After leaving the hospital, you will go home, not to an assisted living facility.
