Who can take part

  • You are between 45 and 85 years old.
  • The study eye has medium-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD) with at least one large drusen (a yellowish deposit under the retina).
  • Your vision in that eye is between 20/20 and 20/200 on an eye chart.
  • You cannot have other serious eye conditions (like glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, or a detached retina) in the study eye.
  • You have not had certain eye surgeries or laser treatments in the study eye in the past 3 months.
  • You agree to avoid pregnancy and follow study medication rules.
