Who can take part

  • You must have a type of lung cancer called non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer that is stage IIIB, IIIC, or IV and cannot be removed by surgery.
  • You should not have had any prior chemotherapy or other systemic treatment for your advanced lung cancer.
  • You must not have active or past inflammatory bowel disease (like Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) that requires treatment.
  • You must not have uncontrolled heart or blood vessel disease.
  • You must not have active cancer that has spread to your brain or spinal cord lining.
  • If you have HIV, it must be well-controlled with medication, and you must not have a history of certain related conditions like Kaposi's sarcoma.
