Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have had a stroke caused by a blockage in the main artery in your neck (internal carotid artery), confirmed by brain imaging.
- Your stroke symptoms are severe enough (NIHSS score of 6 or more) and you are a candidate for a clot removal procedure (mechanical thrombectomy).
- You can have the procedure within 24 hours of your stroke starting.
- You do not have a history of major disability before this stroke (you could do most daily activities on your own).
