Who can take part

  • You have a single-rooted tooth that is dead (the nerve is not alive) and may have an infection around the tip of the root.
  • The tooth must be fully grown (root tip closed) and not cracked, broken, or resorbed.
  • You have not had a root canal on this tooth before, and it is not planned for extraction or a post/crown.
  • You are not pregnant and do not have diabetes, HIV, or a weakened immune system.
  • The tooth's root canal is not too curved (less than 25 degrees) and not calcified (hardened).
