Who can take part

  • You are between 12 and 18 years old (but not yet 18).
  • You have had primary ITP (not caused by another condition) for more than 12 months.
  • You have tried at least one ITP treatment before, such as steroids, IVIg, anti-D immunoglobulin, TPO receptor agonists, or rituximab.
  • You had a good response (platelet count of 50 or higher) to at least one of these treatments: prednisone, other steroids, IVIg, or anti-D immunoglobulin.
  • Your platelet count has been low (less than 30) on average, and you did not respond well enough to a prior ITP treatment.
  • You do not have another cause for low platelets (such as hereditary conditions or bleeding emergencies).
