Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Assiut University Hospital.
- You have been on a breathing machine (ventilator) for at least 48 hours.
- You do not have a blood cancer or a platelet disorder.
- You have not had a platelet transfusion in the last 7 days.
- You do not have a known blood clot in your legs already.
- You have not been on blood-thinning medication before coming to the ICU.
- You are not pregnant.
