This study tests whether routine blood tests (platelet indices) can help predict dangerous blood clots in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) in people who are on a breathing machine in the intensive care unit (ICU). If you are in the ICU and have been on a ventilator for at least two days, joining this study may help doctors learn more about your risk for clots.

Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are a patient at Assiut University Hospital's ICU.
- You have been on a breathing machine (mechanical ventilator) for at least 2 days.
- You do not have a blood cancer or a known platelet disorder.
- You have not had a blood transfusion with platelets in the last week.
- You do not already have a blood clot in your leg (deep vein thrombosis).
- You were not on blood-thinner medication before coming to the ICU.
