This study uses a portable MRI machine to look for brain injury in people who remain unconscious after their heartbeat is restored (ROSC) from a cardiac arrest. If you are having a standard MRI and being treated with temperature control, you may be eligible.

Who can take part
- You are unresponsive right after your heartbeat returns (ROSC) from an in-hospital or out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
- You are 18 years or older
- Your doctor has ordered a standard MRI for you
- You are receiving temperature control treatment
- You do not have any reason that MRI is unsafe for you (like metal implants or a pacemaker)
- You can lie on your back for 30 minutes
- You do not have severe brain swelling or damage seen on a head CT scan within 6 hours of your heartbeat returning
