Who can take part

  • You have type 2 diabetes and are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
  • Your blood sugar has been poorly controlled on stable diabetes medications (not including certain newer drugs) for at least 8 weeks, with an A1c between 7% and 10%.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 24 or higher.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form and follow the study procedures.
