Cenerimod for Active Lupus Nephritis

Who can take part

  • You have a lupus-related kidney problem called lupus nephritis, confirmed by a recent kidney biopsy showing class III, IV, or pure class V.
  • You have high protein levels in your urine, a sign of active kidney disease.
  • Your kidney function is at least 15% of normal (eGFR of 15 or higher), and if it's between 15 and 30, your kidney biopsy must show limited scarring.
  • You agree to take standard treatments for lupus nephritis: mycophenolate (CellCept or Myfortic) and high-dose steroids (pills and possibly IV).
  • You cannot have severe lupus affecting the brain, other serious kidney diseases, certain heart rhythm problems, or active infections like tuberculosis or hepatitis.
  • If you can get pregnant, you must use very effective birth control and take pregnancy tests during the study.
