Who can take part

  • You have idiopathic scoliosis (a curve in your spine with no known cause).
  • You are between 10 and 25 years old.
  • You are planning to have a surgery called 'posterior correction' to straighten your spine.
  • Your main spine curve (Cobb angle) is 75 degrees or less.
  • You have not had surgery on the same part of your spine before.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 35 or less, and you do not have certain psychological conditions (like substance abuse) that would make the study unsafe for you.
