Who can take part

  • You (or your child) have adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (the most common type, not caused by another condition).
  • Your spinal curve (Cobb angle) is more than 30° and has kept worsening (over 5° per year) despite non-surgical care.
  • You are age 10 or older and still growing (Risser grade 2 or less, and “bone age” on hand/wrist X-ray is 14 years or less).
  • The curve must be flexible (not rigid) and should be “reducible” (it can be corrected to some degree, not locked in place).
  • You have never had spine surgery before, and you do not have metal/device allergy or ongoing infection.
  • Your spine structure must be suitable for the hardware (no major bone problems where it would attach, and adequate tissue coverage).
